Barnes & Thornburg Welcomes New Attorneys and Legal Professionals

Barnes & Thornburg has added corporate, labor and employment, litigation and real estate attorneys and legal professionals to its Atlanta, Indianapolis, Los Angeles and San Diego offices.

Chelsea Cohen, a staff attorney in the Los Angeles office, is a trusted adviser focusing on a wide range of entertainment law matters. She has experience supporting a high volume of matters for high-profile clients including recording and performing artists, producers, writers, executives, and record labels, assisting and advising on how to best protect their IP rights and creative interests. Chelsea earned her J.D. from Loyola Marymount University Loyola Law School in 2023 and her B.S. from the University of Southern California in 2019.

An of counsel in the Indianapolis office, Taylor Kirklin focuses his practice on complex business litigation, government enforcement, internal investigations, and white collar matters. He has defended clients in antitrust, class action, false advertising and complex commercial matters across various industries. A former Assistant U.S. Attorney, Taylor keeps his clients’ interests in mind as he crafts comprehensive legal strategies that address the litigation hurdles his clients face. He earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2011, his M.A. from the University of Chicago in 2005 and his B.A. from the University of Chicago in 2003.

Ashley Lopeztello, a counsel in the San Diego office, defends employers against a variety of legal issues, including wage and hour, misclassification, discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination, in both individual and representative actions. She has a proven track record of guiding employers through the intricacies of California employment laws to achieve desired outcomes in litigation. Ashley earned her J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2018 and her B.A. from the University of Arizona in 2014.

An associate in the Indianapolis office, Ben Vandeventer focuses his practice on a wide variety of litigation matters related to toxic torts and product liability. He has represented clients in a broad range of disputes, including insurance defense and personal injury. From his civil and criminal experience, Ben brings a deep understanding of legal proceedings in both federal and state courts, leveraging his experience to craft compelling motions and pleadings. He earned his J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2018 and his B.A. from Purdue University in 2015.

Eva Viera, a paralegal in the Atlanta office, has over three decades of experience in virtually all areas of complex commercial real estate and is skilled in handling transactions both nationally and internationally from inception to closing. She has also overseen the preparation of Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings and applications related to zoning, liquor licensing, and public place of amusement licensing. Eva earned her M.P.A. and B.S. from the University of Miami.
