Entertainment Attorney Carolyn Hunt Named on Daily Journal’s Top Women Lawyers List

LOS ANGELESCarolyn Hunt, an entertainment and media partner in Barnes & Thornburg’s Los Angeles office, has been named to the Daily Journal’s Top Women Lawyers list.

Hunt was recognized for being one of only a few females leading a film finance practice at a major law firm. She offers clients big picture thinking and years of experience from representing financiers, producers, distributors and sales agents in the financing for hundreds of film, television and gaming projects, and her clients look to her as an advisor for helping solve problems that come along with structuring the oftentimes puzzling deals that make up the film and TV industry.

The Top Women Lawyer list, produced annually as a supplement to the Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal, highlights leading female attorneys from across the state. The attorneys selected for inclusion practice across a gamut of industries and practice areas.

Attorneys in the Entertainment, Media and Sports Practice Group have a thorough understanding of the business, financing, distribution and licensing needs of the film, television, music, technology, gaming and sports industries. The group represents motion picture producers and distributors, serves as outside general counsel for musicians and entertainers, and negotiates significant marketing and promotional agreements.

Hunt also was recently included in Variety Magazine’s annual Legal Impact Report, which spotlights attorneys who serve high-profile clients in the entertainment and media industries.

With more than 600 attorneys and other legal professionals, Barnes & Thornburg is one of the largest law firms in the country. The firm serves clients worldwide from 13 offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Delaware, Indiana, Los Angeles, Michigan, Minneapolis, Ohio, and Washington, D.C.
