In a joint webinar, Barnes & Thornburg and Fieldfisher will give an update on the legal implications of the German Supply Chain Act and the upcoming EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive in particular for US companies or small to medium size companies not directly affected by such legislation, and give an overview of the multitude of U.S. regulatory proposals and disclosure requirements from the SEC, the FTC, and a variety of other regulators, as well as the forthcoming wave of “ESG litigation” and enforcement in the U.S.

We will give you an overview on the following topics:

  • Overview of the German Supply Chain Act and lessons learnt from the developments in the first year since its start in 2023
  • Outlook on the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and analysis of the differences between the German Supply Chain Act and the CSDDD
  • Insights on other ESG legislation in the EU such as the Corporate Due Diligence Reporting Directive (CSRD)
  • An overview of the U.S. regulatory proposals and disclosure requirements on ESG
  • Understanding the forthcoming wave of “ESG Litigation” in the U.S., including cases related to climate change, human rights, corporate governance, shareholder derivative lawsuits, class action lawsuits, and regulatory enforcement actions, as well as ways to manage against the risks of such cases.

During the webinar, you will have the opportunity to ask questions, which will be answered by our experts.
