Attorney Presentation - "IRS Valuation Regulations

Jim Robinson of the Atlanta office presented on the proposed IRS valuation regulations and the impact on planning for family entities and potential solutions to about 25 clients and prospects in the Atlanta office on Sept. 28. The presentation itself focused on the Treasury Department's proposed significant new regulations that look to achieve, through administrative action, what the IRS has been unable to do through decades of litigation: reduce or eliminate the so-called "valuation discounts" for family limited partnerships and similar entities that are used for planning purposes.
