Clients in Ohio have two new government services attorneys, one who joined from Ohio state government, in Barnes & Thornburg’s Columbus office to tap for guidance in public and infrastructure finance and economic development. Gregory W. Stype, a partner, has served as counsel to state government entities on complex financings and public-private partnerships. “Greg has deep knowledge of public-private partnerships and the state constitutional and statutory issues that are associated with complex economic development projects,” said William Nolan, managing partner of the firm’s Columbus office. “He is a valuable addition to our office and will be a great asset to our clients that are actively involved in the state’s booming business scene.” James W. Sheppard III joined the firm as an associate after serving as chief of staff for the Ohio Department of Education; Jimmy also worked for the Ohio governor’s office as an assistant policy director for education and as deputy legislative director. He will be providing government affairs services to our clients before the Ohio General Assembly and executive agencies.
