INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana University Maurer School of Law student Blake T. Welter is the 2022 recipient of Barnes & Thornburg’s annual 1L Diversity Scholarship. Welter will be a 2022 summer associate in the firm’s Indianapolis office.

Welter, who received an undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona, is deeply involved in several law school organizations, including Outreach for Legal Literacy, Latinx Law Student Association, National Lawyers Guild, Intellectual Property Association, and Life Experience, Then School (LETS).

The 1L Diversity Scholarship is open to first-year law students with a demonstrated commitment to positive change on the diversity, inclusion and equity (DEI) front and to contributing meaningfully to the DEI goals of Barnes & Thornburg and the legal profession.
