Michael Palmer, Jeanine Gozdecki and Jerry Lutkus of the South Bend office and Janilyn Daub of the Elkhart office presented on hot labor topics at the Michiana Human Resource Association's (MHRA) Fall Kick Off on Sept. 16 in Elkhart. During the kick off, the first Eric Stahlut Memorial Award was introduced. This award was established to honor the late Eric Stahlhut, a former firm partner, who was remembered for his service and enthusiasm for the law and MHRA. This award will be presented in December from MHRA to an individual who has shown extraordinary contributions to the organization or the HR profession. On Sept. 24, the four attorneys also presented during the Work Right Seminar at Notre Dame's Innovation Park in South Bend. Topics for both workshops were: "How to Stay Cool as the DOL Turns up the Heat," presented by Michael; "Beyond Open Enrollment: Are Your Health and Wellness Programs Up to Date?" presented by Janilyn and Jan Phifer of Gibson; "Sex in the Workplace," presented by Jeanine; and "Ambushes and Minefields," presented by Jerry.
