Bill Nolan serves as managing partner of the firm’s Ohio office, which he opened in 2009 and has guided through steady and thoughtful growth. Bill works to bring attentiveness and clarity to bear on employment, contract and other disputes, but is most passionate about helping clients build teams, policies and processes to minimize the frequency, cost and severity of disputes.
Bill's litigation and trial work includes covenant not to compete and trade secret cases in many states. He regularly represents employers in discrimination and discharge cases, administrative claims, arbitrations and mediations, as well as often acts as a neutral himself.
The summer associate has become a bigger and bigger part of the Columbus office as we have grown. Our goal is to expose the summer associate to as much as we can about the legal profession – different practices and subject matter, different experiences, and different people. The firm works hard to connect the summer associates across offices, which is particularly valuable in an office with just one or two summer associates. We involve the summer associates in meaningful projects where there work matters to our clients. I also try to make sure the summer associates learns as much as possible about the law business – developing lawyers will be more successful if they start thinking about those issues earlier in their careers.
