Sophia tracks information disclosure statement status across multiple applications for clients. She drafts pleadings and related correspondence and helps manage records of trial and case deadlines.
Prior to becoming an intellectual property technical analyst, Sophia learned a great deal about the IP arena as a legal administrative assistant with Boston law firms and at Barnes & Thornburg.
Before turning to the legal field, Sophia was an undergraduate research assistant with the University of Iowa Pediatrics and Molecular Physiology and Biophysics departments. In those roles, she studied the development and application of genetic therapies for the treatment of inherited diseases, like hemophilia A; executed behavioral and cell-based assays, techniques, and histology; and assisted with experiments, such as those involving protein folding in cell membranes.
