Scott Beal is co-chair of the firm’s Private Funds and Asset Management practice and a founding partner of the firm’s New York office, where he advises leading investment managers and institutional investors on complex private fund and investment management matters. Drawing on prior experience as president, chief operating officer, and general counsel of several investment advisers, Scott brings a rare in-house perspective to fund formation, regulatory, and transactional advice.
With 20 years of experience, Scott advises clients on the full lifecycle of hedge funds and other private investment funds, including private equity, venture capital, credit, cryptocurrency, and fund-of-funds structures. His experience spans both traditional fund platforms and bespoke hybrid vehicles, and he is frequently called upon to guide seed investments and spinouts of emerging fund managers. In addition, Scott advises clients on acquisitions and dispositions of investment advisory businesses and represents institutional investors, endowments, prominent family offices, and foundations investing in private funds.
