Ryan Cox’s practice focuses on assisting clients with patent matters involving counseling, prosecution and litigation in the area of life sciences and chemical arts. His multifaceted background in science, business and the law enables Ryan to effectively advise clients, putting their intellectual property and business needs at the forefront.

Ryan assists clients with their patents and portfolio strategy by drafting and prosecuting patent applications and managing portfolios in the U.S. and abroad. He also provides freedom-to-operate and patentability opinions, and performs due diligence on such portfolios for mergers and acquisitions. Ryan also has experience in patent litigation, including trial experience in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, and has worked with and helped prepare experts in advance of trial.

Before practicing law, Ryan gained significant knowledge working for nearly a decade in research and development and manufacturing roles with biotechnology companies in technologies ranging from plant transformation to antibody development and protein expression platforms.

He uses his real-world experience and background in biotechnology to help clients protect their IP, forge a path for their innovations, and identify monetization opportunities in the life sciences and chemical industries.

During law school, Ryan was an extern for the Honorable Mary Pat Thynge in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.
