Ryan H. Chan’s practice focuses on the defense of pharmaceutical, medical device and consumer product litigation. Ryan is a tenacious advocate and works diligently to craft and pursue the most optimal litigation strategies for his clients.
Ryan is a skilled litigator who has defended companies in a broad range of commercial and product liability litigation matters, particularly Fortune 500 companies in consumer class actions, multi-district litigations, coordinated proceedings, and product liability cases in federal and state courts nationwide.
Clients rely on Ryan to formulate effective and creative defenses, as well as to provide sound guidance throughout the various stages of litigation.
Ryan has managed cases through virtually every stage of pretrial litigation and trial preparation, including drafting and arguing dispositive and critical motions, preparing and defending witnesses at deposition, and coordinating litigation strategies across defense groups in mass tort litigations. He has also successfully represented clients in different alternative dispute resolution processes, including settlement conferences, arbitrations, and mediations.
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Ryan was an associate at an AmLaw 200 firm representing product manufacturers in both state and federal courts.
