Regardless of the challenge at hand, Kelley serves as a trusted adviser who can step in at any point of a dispute and provide comprehensive solutions to serious, complicated and time-sensitive problems.

Kelley delivers deep trial, settlement and litigation experience to her clients, as she regularly manages state court coordinated proceedings and federal multidistrict litigations and serves on trial teams in high-impact cases across the country.

Kelley focuses on mastering the scientific and technical aspects of each case without losing sight of the big-picture issues that influence juries and the right result. Notably, her defense verdicts have been featured as a “Top 5 Jury Verdict” in Lexis Nexis and as a “Top Defense Verdict” in the Daily Journal. Kelley’s results-oriented approach has helped the practice group earn a national ranking with Chambers USA.

EXPERIENCE
  • Currently serves as national counsel to a leading orthopaedics company and a global blood management company, coordinating their products liability litigation
  • Acted as first chair trial lawyer for national retailers in mass tort litigation
  • Successfully “flipped the tentative” ruling on summary judgment in a talcum powder litigation after two days of oral argument, earning her two national retailer clients judgments and costs on the eve of trial in Alameda County, California
  • Obtained an early dismissal of a San Francisco County lawsuit on behalf of a manufacturer of an autotransfusion device used during a heart lung bypass procedure
  • Played an integral role in winning the first bellwether trial, which lasted over two months, in a Northern District of Texas MDL comprised of more than 10,000 claims alleging design and manufacturing defects of a hip implant system
  • Won multiple Premarket Approval Rule 12(b)6 motions to dismiss for a manufacturer of electrophysiology devices
  • Oversaw selection and preparation of expert witnesses for a “bet the company” national litigation for an orthopedic device manufacturer
  • Assisted in securing a major summary judgment win on eve of trial in Baltimore County for a hip implant manufacturer
  • Secured multiple, unanimous defense verdicts for a global automobile manufacturer in asbestos litigation in Los Angeles County
