OVERVIEW

Mike Webb leverages his background as a mechanical engineer and technical program manager in his role as technical analyst working with intellectual property attorneys and clients. He assists with patent prosecution and preparation, including drafting applications, conducting searches and responding to formal actions.

With a proven record of building strong relationships through effective collaboration, across multiple and even international functions, Mike communicates with attorneys and technically-minded clients regarding patent management and prosecution, as well as other areas where science and intellectual property intersect. He brings significant strength in developing design concepts, delivering solutions, and submitting patents.

A dual British and American Citizen, Mike spent nearly 13 years with Rolls-Royce – originally out of the United Kingdom and then based in Indianapolis – before joining Barnes & Thornburg. In those roles, he served as chief of technology, structures and transmissions; product development manager; structures and transmissions project engineer; and turbine design engineer and technical lead, where he was responsible for delivering technology strategy, encouraging innovation and integrating components, as well as creating and influencing design for current and future Rolls-Royce products.

Mike is expected to earn his J.D. from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2021.

Outside of his practice, Mike is passionate about motorsports and implemented technologies that filter into road cars. He is also a keen tennis player and plays in multiple United States Tennis Association (USTA) leagues in the Indianapolis area.
