OVERVIEW

Cory Turner works tirelessly to analyze complex legal matters and develop and implement effective litigation strategies to help achieve clients’ desired solutions.

Cory focuses his practice on commercial litigation and other business disputes, assisting and advising clients at various stages of litigation.

Before joining Barnes & Thornburg full-time, Cory served as a summer associate at the firm and as a judicial intern for the Honorable Emmet G. Sullivan of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. He also gained appellate procedure and advocacy experience as a student in Georgetown Law’s Appellate Courts Immersion Clinic, where he assisted in writing U.S. Supreme Court and appellate court briefs.

Prior to law school, Cory was a legislative assistant, in Washington, D.C., to former U.S. Sen. Mark Begich of Alaska. He advised the senator on various issues – including agriculture, defense, judiciary, postal delivery to rural areas, and appropriations – and assisted him in securing legislative priorities and working with federal agencies on important administrative decisions. Cory also led communications for a Washington, D.C.-based national health care trade association, including rapid response to legislative and regulatory developments on Medicare, Medicaid and other issues affecting home care, home health, and hospice providers.
