OVERVIEW

Alexander Friel combines his biomedical engineering background with his legal acumen to help clients navigate complex intellectual property disputes. Alexander focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation, particularly patent disputes.

Alexander develops compelling litigation strategies to protect and defend clients’ intellectual property rights while also seeking innovative solutions to resolve conflicts. His attention to detail and technical proficiency allow him to thoroughly analyze the merits of a case, anticipate challenges, and craft persuasive arguments in court.

Alexander also has experience conducting technological and commercial evaluations of newly disclosed technologies and performing detailed research into relevant prior art and existing patents to support litigation efforts.

Prior to joining the firm full-time, Alexander gained valuable experience as a summer associate and law clerk with Barnes & Thornburg. He conducted in-depth research on patent-specific legal issues, assisted in drafting motions, and managed correspondence related to ongoing litigation matters. Alexander also spent time working for Boston University’s Student Innovation Law Clinic where he met with aspiring student entrepreneurs to develop effective intellectual property strategies to protect their business interests.

Alexander is not regularly admitted to practice in the local courts of Massachusetts.
