Lauren draws from her experience as a bench chemist and researcher to pursue patent protections for clients across varying areas of science and technology. Detail-oriented and approachable, Lauren works closely with her clients to pursue patent applications as well as IP-related business strategies.
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg full-time Lauren worked as a law clerk researching case law and U.S. Patent and Trademark Office decisions, drafting and amending patent appeal briefs, and conducting freedom to operate searches for technology related to client projects.
Lauren also gained experience as a summer associate for a Boston firm drafting and revising patent applications for clients relating to a variety of technologies.
Prior to that, she served as a judicial intern for the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Before entering law school, Lauren was a patent liaison and scientific associate for Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research, where she synthesized new chemical matter for early-stage drug discovery projects and assisted with patent filings.
Outside of her practice, Lauren plays Ultimate competitively and has traveled across the country to play with her college and club ultimate disc teams.
