Jenny Alsbury has always had a desire to make a difference in people’s lives. Having focused over a decade of her career as a paralegal in family law, Jenny does just that – alongside her attorneys, she performs interesting and rewarding work helping families transition through difficult times.
Every day, Jenny learns about people, about families, and about the challenges they are experiencing. Her goal is to assist her attorneys and their clients in achieving a positive resolution that allows everyone to move forward.
Jenny primarily assists her attorneys with case management, including drafting pleadings and affidavits, handling discovery, facilitating exhibits, assisting in depositions, and attending trials as needed. With a high-volume of matters in process at any given time, she leans on the legal knowledge she’s gained over the years and her organizational skills to keep everything in order and within deadlines.
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Jenny spent over sixteen years as a paralegal and a legal secretary at other firms in the Twin Cities. In those roles, she worked with attorneys who practiced insurance defense, workers’ compensation, and personal injury before turning her focus to family law in 2007. Jenny credits those experiences with teaching her the intricacies of litigation and of family law in particular.
