Gloria C. Jan is of counsel in Barnes and Thornburg's Los Angeles office where she collaborates with the firm on selected matters. She is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Department. Her practice focuses on employment litigation and counseling.
With more than 20 years of experience, Gloria has worked in nearly every area of labor and employment law. She has handled cases throughout the litigation process before state and federal courts, as well as administrative agency proceedings, entertainment labor arbitrations, and private arbitrations. Her cases have involved discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage and hour issues (including class actions), unfair competition and trade secrets, and entertainment labor disputes.
Gloria provides advice and counseling to employers in all areas of labor and employment law, such as employment policies, wage and hour compliance, family and medical leave issues, and litigation avoidance. She also conducts investigations and training seminars on harassment, discrimination, wage and hour issues, employee leaves of absence, and other employment issues.
She has represented employers in a number of diverse industries, including financial services, entertainment, retail, food service, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and other industries.
