Eric offers targeted strength in defending companies in consumer class actions, litigating breach of contract, warranty, breach of fiduciary duty, and business tort matters, and handling all aspects of partnership disputes and business breakups. His goal is to do whatever is necessary to defend his clients’ best interests, across a spectrum of business, finance, entertainment, construction, and real estate disputes.
When individuals and companies, from startups to publicly traded corporations, are facing complex disputes, Eric guides them through the litigation process – reviewing every angle to help set up a roadmap for success. He develops targeted litigation and negotiation strategies, conducts investigations and discovery, and supervises junior attorneys and paralegals along the way.
Eric strives to achieve favorable results that enforce contractual terms for companies in a variety of industries. He litigates commercial and employment matters, and represents companies in various real estate and construction litigation matters.
Eric has had success in virtually every type of legal proceeding – from jury trials in federal and state courts to arbitrations to appeals.
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Eric was with a national law firm and international law firm, practicing in both Atlanta and Los Angeles.
Eric has been active in a range of nonprofit organizations dedicated to furthering justice, including offering his knowledge, time and leadership guiding efforts at the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and Georgia Appleseed Center for Law and Justice (Appleseed). In 2019, Eric was presented with a national award given by the ADL honoring outstanding professionals for leadership in the fight against anti-Semitism, racism and all forms of prejudice. He was presented with Appleseed’s Good Apple Award, which recognized his pro bono efforts in facilitating the establishment of a program that provides representation to foster children facing long-term suspensions and assists with statistical analysis of school discipline.

- Achieved an appellate victory for a major hospital in Georgia Court of Appeals in a politically charged case involving a lucrative real estate option
- Secured a jury verdict in federal court for damages and payment of attorneys’ fees for client against former employer for breach of fiduciary duty, invasion of privacy, fraudulent nondisclosure, and negligence
- Helped secure a jury verdict for a large privately held company in a dispute over the terms and conditions of the lease for its corporate headquarters
- Defeated class certification by current and former students at a national for-profit university who alleged various state law claims for fraud and negligent misrepresentation

- After a one-month bench trial, forced dissolution of a California limited partnership on behalf of its general and limited partners
- Helped secure a seven-figure jury verdict for a public company that sued the former president of its subsidiary for breach of fiduciary duty and fraud
- Successfully defended a large global language services provider in AAA Commercial Arbitration against claims of breach of contract and fraud in which client was facing liability for compensatory damages, plus punitive damages and attorneys’ fees, amounting to a six-figure award
