Alex Kelly focuses her practice on white collar criminal matters and the resolution of complex civil litigation claims. She is valued by clients and colleagues alike for her strong case management skills and ability to handle difficult and/or high-stakes matters.
Alex’s white collar practice includes defending against government investigations, advising on corporate compliance practices, and monitoring companies on behalf of the U.S. government. Notably,
Alex served on the team led by Larry Mackey and appointed by the Department of Justice to monitor a multinational medical device manufacturer and distributor, pursuant to the company’s deferred prosecution agreements with the U.S. government.
With respect to civil litigation, Alex represents both plaintiffs and defendants involved in commercial, securities and product liability disputes before state and federal courts across the country. Prior to joining the firm, Alex worked at the boutique law firm of Grais & Ellsworth LLP representing federal home loan banks in civil litigation against large investment banks for improper sales of mortgage-backed securities.
Alex is skilled in virtually all phases of case development, ranging from motion practice and discovery to expert discovery, hearings and trial. Her approach to problem-solving and dispute resolution is to understand the case from her client’s distinct perspective, including the result they ultimately seek.
