Adam's clients have included world leaders in the chemical, packaging, real estate, banking, pharmaceutical, healthcare, telecommunications, auto part, and child product manufacturing industries, and in the commodities and futures markets. Over the course of his career, Adam has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars of unpaid claims and damages on behalf of insurance policyholders across the country.
Adam’s experience includes complex civil litigation involving virtually the full array of bad faith violations, ranging from denial of coverage and payment, to improper reserving and claims investigation, to delay of benefits, negligence and failure to defend the policyholder. Adam has also resolved E&O and D&O claims, issues of professional liability, as well as litigation pertaining to commercial property such as builder’s risk.
Notably, Adam remains dedicated to working with policyholders to manage their insurance programs and enforce their coverage rights. In addition to resolving disputes, Adam assists his clients and their insurance companies to ensure claims are presented in a way that lessons the possibility of a dispute and maximizes the potential for coverage. He also advises on the negotiation of policy coverage and exclusions, and provides legal counsel regarding the insurance implications of business operations and prospective transactions.
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Adam was with the Chicago office of Mayer Brown LLP.
