First and foremost, we are focused on business’ needs in Midwestern and other U.S. markets. Established Ohio practitioners opened the office eager to bring to the market the firm’s passion for excellence and client service and, initially, a national labor and employment practice group platform. The office has since added significant capabilities in areas such as real estate, government services, litigation, corporate, creditors’ rights, and healthcare. The office also provides an entry point for Ohio clients to the firm’s full range of services.
We occupy space we designed on the 33rd floor of Huntington Center. The bright, open space reflects the energy we seek to bring to everything we do. We welcome community groups to meet in our space so we can share our spectacular views of Central Ohio.
The firm continues to build the Columbus team by identifying enthusiastic practitioners with an entrepreneurial bent. We are passionate about leadership development and our professionals have participated in development programs including Leadership Columbus, Elevate Columbus, and the Ohio Women’s Bar Foundation Leadership Institute.
Our energy extends to our community and our profession. Members of our team hold and have held leadership positions with organizations such as the Ohio State Bar Association, the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, Women Lawyers of Franklin County, the Columbus Bar Association’s Managing Partners’ Diversity Initiative, and the Columbus Metropolitan Club.
Barnes & Thornburg has twice been recognized as a Best Place to Work in Columbus, received the Ohio Women’s Bar Association’s Family Friendly Award, and honored repeatedly as a Great Workplace for Young Professionals. We are proud to be a founder of Gender Equity in the Legal Industry (GELI), collaborative discussions surrounding gender equity in the legal industry that continue today with the participation of several Columbus and Cleveland law firms.
