Attorneys Join Barnes & Thornburg’s Midwest Offices

Barnes & Thornburg LLP added two attorneys to its Chicago and Indianapolis offices.

Michael Baumert is an associate in the Chicago office. As a member of the Intellectual Property Department, Baumert focuses on technology-driven licensing, data protection and privacy, mergers and acquisitions, outsourcing, and cloud computing. He also has experience with patent litigation involving computer software, medical devices, and third-generation and fourth-generation (3G and 4G) wireless communication standards.

He earned his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School in 2013. Baumert earned his B.S. from Roosevelt University in 2006.

Travis Stegemoller is an attorney in the Indianapolis office and serves as director of entrepreneurial services in the Corporate Department.

Stegemoller primarily counsels founders, startups and emerging companies through entity formation, capital raises, mergers and acquisitions, and intellectual property strategies. He also counsels investors and funds regarding capital placements and portfolio companies. Travis has broad experience in contracts, commercial law, intellectual property, franchising and commercial real estate. He also works with founders and executives to prioritize legal spend so it aligns with their company’s growth strategy.

Stegemoller earned his B.S. from Purdue University. He graduated with honors from Valparaiso University School of Law.
