Corporate Attorney Mary Sennes Joins Barnes & Thornburg’s Minneapolis Office

MINNEAPOLIS – Mary Sennes has joined the Minneapolis office as of counsel in the firm’s growing Corporate Department. Sennes brings to Barnes & Thornburg a background in the agriculture, food, and renewable energy industries.

Sennes concentrates her practice in mergers and acquisitions, public and private offerings of securities and general securities law compliance, and complex commercial contract negotiations. She has a versatile portfolio, which includes advising clients in merger and acquisition deals and serving as counsel to start-up companies. Her experience representing companies with agricultural and renewable energy ties is deep and ranges from food producers to biofuel technology companies and mineral processing facilities.

Sennes is the latest addition the firm’s growing Minneapolis office, which now has nearly 35 attorneys. Already this year, the office has added an insurance recovery group of Thomas C. Mielenhausen, Christopher H. Yetka and Christopher L. Lynch.

About Mary Sennes

Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Sennes was an associate practicing in the corporate department of Stoel Rives LLP, and before that was at Fredrikson & Byron P.A. While at Stoel Rives, Sennes contributed numerous presentations and publications relating to corporate law and renewable energy.

Sennes is a member of the American Bar Association (Business Law Section), Minnesota Bar Association (Business Law and Agricultural Law sections), National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (Minnesota Chapter), Wind on the Wires (a regional partner of the American Wind Energy Association), and Women in Wind Energy.

Sennes earned her law degree magna cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law in 2004 and her bachelor’s degree cum laude from University of Notre Dame in 2000.
