Meeting the Challenges of Being a Female Litigator: Can We Get Past the Stereotypes?

Dr. Christina Studebaker of the Indianapolis office and of ThemeVision co-organized a roundtable discussion for the American Bar Association's Women of the Section of Litigation conference that was held in Chicago on Nov. 11-13. The session focused on "Meeting the Challenges of Being a Female Litigator: Can We Get Past the Stereotypes?" The discussion examined gender norms and stereotypes, implicit bias, impression management techniques and other techniques to help female litigators effectively communicate to jurors and judges, collaborate and/or supervise fellow trial team members, and develop client relationships. The discussion was co-moderated by the Honorable Alison Conlon (formerly of Barnes & Thornburg).
