Trace Schmeltz of the Chicago office moderated the panel discussion “If the Government Calls, Will You Be Ready?” on Nov. 5. The event, which was co-sponsored by Barnes & Thornburg and Navigant, explored steps companies might take when a government entity issues a subpoena or informal inquiry. The panel featured the head of the Securities and Commodities Fraud Section of the United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Illinois, a former Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement lawyer, a Navigant litigation consultant, and inside and outside counsel who focus on government enforcement matters.
