Valarie Allen is Vice Chair, Public Finance, in the Government Services, Finance and Lobbying Department of Barnes & Thornburg and has spent decades advising transaction participants in the structuring, issuance, offering, remarketing, placement, restructuring and purchase of tax-exempt and taxable municipal securities, as well as other debt instruments and derivatives.
Consistently recognized as a Band 1 Public Finance practitioner by Chambers USA, Valarie serves as bond, borrower, underwriter, disclosure, purchaser’s and trustee counsel to clients nationwide across virtually all areas of public finance. Her clients include large health systems and academic medical centers; national and regional investment banking firms, commercial banks, and investors; state housing agencies and local housing authorities; colleges and universities; private and municipal utilities; and large municipal and state issuers.
