Scott is well-versed in drafting patent applications and prosecuting patents and trademarks before the U. S. Patent and Trademark Office.
With a particular focus on chemical, biological and mechanical arts, Scott has worked in patent applications for cement, downhole fluids, downhole tools, refinery equipment, gas-to-fuels technology, polymer production and applications, microfabrication technologies, electronic display components, material coatings, adhesives, optically clear films, flexible electronics substrates, marine geophysical surveying and medical devices.
Scott has counseled clients in a number of other trademark areas such as showing secondary meaning, completing a statement of use and filing a declaration of incontestability.
Prior to his career in law, Scott performed research in drug design and development at the Experimental Therapeutics Department of MD Anderson Cancer Center.
