OVERVIEW

Clients involved in complex civil disputes frequently turn to Robyn Maguire for straightforward and honest counsel acquired through her extensive experience on product liability, real estate, and land use litigation cases.

Responsive and approachable, Robyn is relied on by pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, distributors, and retailers to represent them in product liability lawsuits alleging negligence, failure-to-warn, strict liability design and manufacturing defect, and wrongful death claims. She has been involved in claims concerning products such as talcum powder, orthopaedic implants, contraceptive patches, pediatric painkillers, tissue morcellators, and other drugs and devices.

She has intimate knowledge of the sale and distribution of prescription medical devices, over-the-counter and prescription drugs, operating room protocols, biomaterials applications, medical device testing standards, and healthcare compliance issues, as well as a variety of other scientific issues related to the manufacture and sale of drugs and medical devices.

Robyn also has considerable experience in real estate and land use litigation matters, including title disputes, zoning appeals, and affordable housing matters. She represents real estate developers, property owners, and landlords and tenants concerning a variety of commercial property matters, including commercial eviction claims, easement disputes, administrative appeals, and other real estate matters.

Robyn is actively involved in pro bono, civic and charitable initiatives. In addition to representing indigent clients in housing, asylum and other matters, she has submitted amicus briefs to the U.S. Supreme Court and U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit on matters involving immigration and employment discrimination, respectively.

During law school, Robyn was a judicial intern for the late Honorable Reginald C. Lindsay of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

Robyn is not regularly admitted to practice law in the local courts of the District of Columbia and is working under the supervision of a member of the D.C. Bar pending her admission.
