Michael advises on managing and developing intellectual property portfolios for a wide array of clients in the U.S. and abroad. He provides legal counsel pertaining to IP and business strategies involving the development, marketing and licensing of IP assets such as patents, trademarks and copyrights.
Michael also negotiates and documents transactions related to the transfer of IP, as well as advises foreign associates on matters related his client’s IP portfolios.
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Michael worked exclusively with entrepreneurial clients. These clients, often solo inventors, appreciated Michael’s common sense and plain English approach to preparing and prosecuting patent applications. Michael has evolved this approach into working with clients of all sizes with a dedication to providing the best value for his client’s technology.
