Matt does not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to building a patent portfolio; instead, he tailors the portfolio strategy to meet the specific needs of the client, based on the client’s business objectives.
Matt serves a diverse pool of clients in the life sciences, ranging from privately owned startups to nonprofit institutions to publicly traded pharmaceutical and biotech firms. These clients provide products and services related to gene therapies, cell therapies, immunotherapies, biologics, nucleic acid sequencing, medical devices, and traditional small molecule pharmaceuticals.
On the licensing and tech transfer side of his practice, Matt takes the same client-centric approach, considering nearly every deal unique, each involving parties with different needs and goals.
When it comes to pre-dispute counseling, Matt’s primary objective is to provide a realistic assessment of the strengths and weaknesses so that the client can make an informed decision before stepping into a potential battle.
Regardless of the type of matter, Matt’s focus is on putting the client in the best position to succeed.
