Malissa focuses on commercial and retail developments as well as renewable energy projects, integrating her passion for sustainability with her experience in development and financing. Malissa is loyal to her colleagues and clients, and it shows through her professional achievements and continued leadership within the firm and the Dallas-Fort Worth community.
Before joining Barnes & Thornburg, Malissa honed her skills in commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments. In these roles, she played a pivotal role in the acquisition and development of projects across the Dallas-Fort Worth and Frisco areas, with a keen eye on growth and sustainability in the metroplex.
Malissa’s background includes valuable experiences gained through a judicial externship with the Honorable Justice Robert Benham of the Supreme Court of Georgia and as law clerk for the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of the U.S. Trustee during her law school career.
In her personal time, she enjoys exploring new hotspots in Dallas with her husband, Kunal, cheering on her alma mater, the Georgia Bulldogs, and chasing after her lively toddler, Khaiyan.
