Frank DeBorde has practiced as a bankruptcy and workout lawyer for more than three decades. He frequently conducts complex workouts and represents creditors in bankruptcy courts nationwide, and clients rely on him for his steadfastness and attention to detail.

Frank regularly represents creditors in state court, bankruptcy court and federal district court. Frank’s recent practice has focused on syndicated loans secured by restaurants, hotels and office buildings.  

Frank has been recognized by Chambers USA for his bankruptcy and restricting work and is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest peer rating for attorneys.

Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Frank was a partner and chair of the creditors’ rights and bankruptcy practice group at an AmLaw 200 law firm in Atlanta.

  • Lead counsel in representation of syndicated lenders in bankruptcy cases pending in Delaware, Ohio and Colorado of restaurant franchisees involving over $70 million, $80 million and $50 million of debt, respectively*
  • Lead counsel in representation of creditors’ committee in bankruptcy case of artificial turf manufacturer involving over $90 million bankruptcy sale*
  • Lead counsel in representation of creditors’ committee and liquidating trustee in bankruptcy cases involving Ponzi scheme*
  • Lead counsel for the FDIC as receiver in multiple actions, each involving over $10 million in assets, including tax refunds, in dispute between bank and holding company*
  • Lead counsel in representation of creditors’ committee in bankruptcy proceeding filed by automobile dealer and subsequent representation of liquidating agent post-confirmation in connection with resolution of claims and claims objections and pursuit of fraudulent transfer claims against the former owner*
