Nicola leverages this in-depth understanding to paint the right picture in the course of litigation involving an insured loss or lawsuit. She provides guidance and assistance with insurance recovery issues, such as coverage denials, claim presentation, and bad faith matters.

She brings considerable experience to her insurance litigation practice, having honed her research and writing skills as a federal law clerk for the Honorable Clay D. Land of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia and for the Honorable R. Lanier Anderson III of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. 

Nicola began her legal career prosecuting felony criminal cases as an Assistant District Attorney at the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office. Most recently, Nicola worked representing policyholders at Bersinger Law before joining Barnes & Thornburg. 

Prior to studying law, Nicola was a marketing consultant with The Sweet Life and a project manager with Body Strength Fitness/Life in Motion Yoga, both in New York.

During her undergrad years, Nicola performed in the Biography Channel’s Celebrity Ghost Stories and in the CAP21 Shop Theatre Production of Bye Bye Birdie.

When she isn’t racking her brain about insurance policies, Nicola can be found traveling, hiking, or watching a play at a local theater or an Audrey Hepburn movie. A musical theater major, Nicola loves the arts.
