Nadia reviews medical records and prepares chronologies, summaries, and medical treatment timelines that help attorneys evaluate causation, standard of care, and standard of practice. She conducts clinical research using medical literature, journal articles, and practice guidelines to produce materials that explain the illnesses and injuries at issue in a case, and she searches firm databases and outside sources to identify qualified specialists for expert review and expert witness testimony. She also reviews and organizes records produced by both sides and precepts newly hired legal nurse consultants.
Nadia has worked as a legal nurse consultant in the healthcare groups of national defense firms since 2019, including a contract engagement performing pharmacolegal surveillance in a product liability matter involving a sterilization device.
Before entering legal nurse consulting, Nadia spent nearly 34 years with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. As a registered nurse at the VA Pittsburgh Health Care System, she worked in hospice and palliative care, the coronary care ICU, liver and kidney transplant and chemotherapy, and medical-surgical and cardiac telemetry units, and later served as a care and case manager coordinating primary care for post-9/11 veterans under the patient aligned care team model. She began her career as a medical technologist, working as a generalist and in microbiology, blood banking, and anatomic pathology, and supervising laboratory operations and a staff of 14 at the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center.
