Marquis Whitney represents manufacturers of prescription pharmaceuticals, medical devices, consumer products, and other companies in coordinated state proceedings, multidistrict litigation, class actions, and individual matters in state and federal courts nationwide. He concentrates his practice on a broad range of litigation matters, with a particular focus on proceedings in New Jersey.

Marquis brings valuable perspective from his experience as a federal judicial law clerk, where he worked on a wide range of complex civil matters. Through his clerkships, he developed a strong understanding of federal court practice in New Jersey, which he leverages to guide clients on local rules, judicial preferences, and effective litigation strategy.

His practice focuses on defending clients in product liability, breach of contract, restrictive covenant and employment-related disputes, and other commercial litigation matters. Marquis is involved in all phases of litigation, from pre-suit counseling through motion practice and trial, including second-chair trial experience. He also advises clients on information governance matters, including legal hold implementation and management, process improvements, record retention policies, and defensible disposition.

Outside the firm, Marquis is active in his community. He serves on the scholarship committee for the Garden State Bar Association and is a member of the Seton Hall School of Law Alumni Council.
