Malissa has experience drafting, preparing and negotiating an extensive amount of commercial leases on behalf of landlord and tenant clients. She also has executed ancillary loan documents for multimillion dollar sales, acquisitions, and refinancings.
Prior to joining the Barnes & Thornburg, Malissa gained a keen eye for the growth and sustainability of mixed-use developments while she was an associate with a Dallas-based firm. There she assisted major developers with the acquisition and development of such developments located within the Dallas-Fort Worth and Frisco areas of Texas.
During law school, Malissa was a judicial extern for the Honorable Justice Robert Benham of the Supreme Court of Georgia and for the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of the U.S. Trustee.
In her spare time, Malissa can be found exploring new hot spots in Dallas with her husband, Kunal, or cheering on her alma mater, the Georgia Bulldogs.
