Koryn McHone represents management interests in employment litigation and administrative proceedings, as well as counsels employers on the day-to-day concerns and emergent issues that arise with their workforces. In addition to advocating for clients in administrative and judicial forums, she also provides employment-related counseling to employers of all sizes and with varying employment needs.
Koryn is appreciated by clients and colleagues alike for her ability to quickly analyze issues as they arise in the workplace, provide effective solutions to resolving employment concerns, and engage in the necessary follow-up to support productive employment relationships.
Experience
- In an Opinion and Order dated September 30, 2011, United States District Court Judge Jon DeGuilio granted summary judgment to firm client Wabash National Corporation with respect to Plaintiff Richard Steeno's claim that Wabash National Corporation violated the Age Discrimination in Employment Act when it terminated his employment. Wabash National Corporation was represented by Tony Prather and Koryn McHone.
- On June 22, 2010, Judge Sarah Evans Barker of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana granted a motion for summary judgment filed on behalf of firm client Corrections Corporation of America. Plaintiffs were eight nurses and former employees of CCA's jail facility in Indianapolis. Plaintiffs' Third Amended Complaint included 12 counts, alleging they were subject to a racially hostile and unsafe work environment and several other claims and theories of recovery. The Court granted summary judgment as to all Plaintiffs and all claims. Four of the eight Plaintiffs appealed some of the claims. On June 9, 2011, the Seventh Circuit affirmed the district court's order granting summary judgment to CCA as to all claims raised on appeal.
