Justin Teitell

Staff Attorney
Justin Teitell is a staff trial attorney in Barnes & Thornburg’s Product Liability and Mass Tort practice group. He brings nearly a decade of courtroom and deposition experience to the firm’s national products liability practice, where he focuses on defending complex cases involving consumer, industrial, and technical products in state and federal courts.
Justin has argued thousands of contested motions, taken and defended hundreds of depositions, and tried 37 jury trials to verdict — serving as first chair in the vast majority of those trials. His firsthand experience examining witnesses, handling evidentiary disputes, and presenting cases to juries shapes his strategic approach to expert-driven litigation.

Justin focuses on fact and expert development, deposition strategy, and preparing cases for trial in product liability and mass tort matters. His extensive first-chair trial background informs the way he evaluates expert testimony, develops case narratives and pressures the core issues in technically complex disputes.

Justin began his legal career as a trial attorney with the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office, where he represented thousands of clients in matters ranging from misdemeanors like DUIs to complex felony assaults and homicide charges. This broad trial experience gave him deep insight into jury dynamics, evidentiary advocacy and effective case theme development.
