Josh’s commitment to bankruptcy law predates his practice. At Emory University School of Law, he served as a Managing Editor of the Emory Bankruptcy Developments Journal. He graduated with honors and received the Pro Bono Publico Medal in recognition of his public service.

Before joining Barnes & Thornburg, Josh developed his advocacy and analytical skills across government, regulatory, and private-practice settings. As a legal extern in the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia, he drafted indictments, motions, plea agreements, and sentencing memoranda. He also appeared in federal court on behalf of the U.S. government.

Josh also served as a legal intern with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, and as a summer associate at a law firm in Los Angeles, where he researched and drafted memoranda on bankruptcy, securities, contract, copyright, and tax matters. Prior to pursuing law, Josh spent two years as a mathematics teacher in Los Angeles.
