OVERVIEW

With a military background, Jordan Oliver is calm under pressure and exudes confidence and poise. For his litigation clients, his attention to detail and competitive spirit help provide practical and targeted solutions to their challenges, while balancing their needs, goals, and reputation.

Jordan focuses his practice on white collar criminal defense and investigations, as well as antitrust, compliance, monitorships, and general commercial disputes and appeals. He assists clients by conducting research, drafting motions, and interfacing with the government to negotiate potential resolutions.

Jordan was the 2019 recipient of Barnes & Thornburg’s diversity scholarship. Prior to joining the firm full-time, Jordan was a summer associate and law clerk with Barnes & Thornburg. Jordan also worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable Judge James R. Sweeney II of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, where he drafted orders, researched procedural and substantive issues, and observed oral arguments and trials. Additionally, he was a legal intern with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office and with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Indiana.

While earning his undergraduate degree, Jordan served as an infantry non-commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps, stationed in Camp Pendleton, California, and Washington, D.C. As a drill instructor, he prepared fellow Marines for funerals, parades, and other ceremonies, and conducted over 400 missions at Arlington National Cemetery. He also managed field operations and led fire teams during situational training exercises in preparation for combat.

In his free time, Jordan enjoys playing basketball. While serving in the Marine Corps, he was selected as one out of 200,000-plus to represent the Marine Corps in basketball tournaments around the world as part of the 18-member All-Marine Basketball team.
