John Lawrence counsels healthcare clients, financial services companies, and other government contractors nationwide in responding to civil and criminal governmental investigations and defending False Claims Act lawsuits. He is committed to providing comprehensive, thoughtful, and creative counsel to companies during some of their most critical and high-impact moments. During these pivotal times, he serves as a steady, trusted advisor, helping clients navigate complex challenges with confidence, clarity, and practical solutions.
John frequently represents hospitals, hospital systems, academic medical centers, healthcare corporations, laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, durable medical equipment companies and individuals in healthcare fraud investigations involving the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Attorneys' Offices and other federal and state agencies. John also advises clients on healthcare regulatory matters, including those involving the Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute.
Outside of healthcare, John represents financial services companies and other government contractors in False Claims Act matters and related internal and external investigations.
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, John served as the co-leader of the Healthcare & FDA Practice Group of a large international law firm.
