For more than 21 years, Jean has conducted export and import-related investigations, transaction due diligence, export and import licensing, country of origin analysis, compliance and regulatory interpretation. She has a strong ability to learn the business acumen needed to solve problems by exploring possibilities and breaking down complex issues to turn ambiguity into actionable solutions.
Jean is well-versed in establishing and running compliance programs and partnering with clients to identify and tackle compliance needs through the implementation of robust assessment programs. Jean provides legal support on digital collaboration, cybersecurity, proposals, and company-wide transformative initiatives.
Currently, Jean is a member of the team assisting the Special Compliance Coordinator appointed by the U.S. Department of Commerce in the monitorship of Zhongxing Telecommunications Equipment Corporation, of Shenzhen, China, and ZTE Kangxun Telecommunications Ltd. of Hi-New Shenzhen, China (collectively, ZTE).
Prior to joining the firm, Jean was in-house counsel for an industrial machinery manufacturing company. With a strong background in government contracting, armament, and aerospace, she provided legal services related to commercial contracts, business and compliance matters and acted as an adviser on government and regulatory compliance.
Additionally, Jean led the worldwide trade compliance function including risk management, strategy, policy, operational execution and related activities to ensure compliance with import and export control laws, regulations and economic sanctions.
