James works with a wide variety of clients on corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and other business arrangements across the finance, financial institution, hedge fund, life sciences, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, real estate, and technology industries. He is appreciated by clients and colleagues alike for his discipline in supporting client goals and his consistently strong work ethic and product.
Having been mentored by some of New York’s top corporate attorneys while working for an AmLaw 100 firm in the city, James’ experience includes drafting and revising SEC filings for deals involving publicly traded companies; performing due diligence for mergers, restructurings and asset purchase deals; as well as forming SPACs and drafting and revising credit agreements, security agreements and leases. James has also researched and analyzed the use of financial models in antitrust proceedings.
James served as a legal extern to the general counsel in the Office of the Governor of Indiana, where he investigated potential COVID-19 responses across the country in anticipation of arrival in Indiana, and reviewed and advised on petitions for clemency and pardon submitted to the governor. He also worked as a legislative intern in the Indiana House of Representatives to Floor Majority Leader Matthew Lehman, where he managed constituent communications; interfaced with lobbyists, constituents and other state representatives; and collected, organized and responded to the representative’s annual constituent survey.
When not working, James enjoys swing dancing with his wife, watching classic films, reading history, and travelling.
