Intellectual property lawyer Greg Cooper concentrates his practice in patent, copyright and trademark law for clients in Northeast Indiana and across the country. In his third decade of practice, Greg strives to serve as a partner to his clients and to understand their business, along with what matters most for their long- and short-term business objectives.

Intellectual property lawyer Greg Cooper concentrates his practice in patent, copyright and trademark law for clients in Northeast Indiana and across the country. In his third decade of practice, Greg strives to serve as a partner to his clients and to understand their business, along with what matters most for their long- and short-term business objectives.

Greg advises both individuals and corporations on the U.S. and international patent, copyright and trademark processes, and in acquiring U.S. and international patent, trademark and copyright registrations. He prepares and negotiates a variety of contracts and agreements, including nondisclosure, licensing, trade secret, enforcement and assignment.

In addition, Greg works with his clients to enforce and defend patent, copyright and trademark rights in litigation in U.S. District Courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, as well as develops and negotiates settlement and alternate resolution strategies.

With Greg’s experience in a variety of technological disciplines, he has been involved in a wide range of industries and products. His experience includes mechanical devices, designs and structures, including architectural, automotive, industrial, construction, computer, e-commerce, business methods, consumer, furniture, healthcare, waterworks, lighting, landscaping, pool, recreation, toy, security, hardware; manufacturing processes including presses, machinery, robotics, pneumatics, grippers and clamps; and specialty material and chemical compositions including pharmaceuticals, composites, laminates, moldings, coatings, bearings, wear surfaces, magnet wire and cables.

At the core of Greg’s IP practice is a personal dedication to providing legal counsel that supports his clients’ commercial goals coupled with efficient service, value and responsiveness.

Greg shares his legal knowledge and experience teaching patent law to law students at Ohio Northern University School of Law. In his class, Greg teaches the intricacies of patent law including patent statutes and regulations, applications and prosecution, litigation, defenses, settlement and license agreements.
