Evan represents and advises clients in a wide range of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and leasing of retail, office, hotel, industrial, mixed-use, and multifamily commercial properties. He has also worked in the development space, with a focus on industrial, student housing, data centers, and energy infrastructure.
In addition, Evan has worked with clients on renewable energy projects, providing real estate insight on project development, site control, due diligence, and title curative measures. As part of his practice, Evan regularly performs due diligence reviews of title, surveys, zoning reports, and property condition reports. He also has experience representing clients’ interests in general business matters.
Evan serves as a Barnes & Thornburg AI Practice Champion, one of nearly 40 attorneys across the firm designated to advance the practical use of AI within their practice group and help translate the firm's AI strategy into day-to-day client work.
Prior to joining the firm, Evan was a judicial extern for the Honorable Chief Justice Loretta Rush of the Indiana Supreme Court. He also gained experience as a summer associate at Barnes & Thornburg and as a law clerk for another premier Indianapolis law firm. He was team captain and a four-year letter winner of the Purdue University baseball team, earning Academic All-Big Ten honors.
