When insurers refuse to honor their coverage obligations, Eric represents policyholders in claim negotiations and coverage litigation. He has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars of insurance proceeds under a range of policies, including R&W, D&O, and cyber policies, and he strategically focuses on the issues that can drive meaningful resolutions while working to avoid the distractions that insurers try to insert into the dispute process.
Eric’s transactional practice centers on R&W insurance. From his experience and market-based knowledge, he advises buyers on selecting an R&W insurer and on how the R&W policy interacts with purchase agreements. He negotiates policy terms and conditions, works to eliminate or narrow deal-specific exclusions, and manages the underwriting process so coverage remains aligned with client expectations and deal timelines.
He also counsels policyholders on D&O, professional liability, and cyber insurance programs, including advising clients that want to evaluate or improve their coverage. Eric reviews policies “cover to cover” and tracks market and caselaw developments that affect how insurers apply key terms and exclusions, allowing him to identify enhancements that can be the difference between coverage or no coverage.
Eric also understands the importance of pro bono service and has proudly helped six unaccompanied immigrant minors, who were subject to abuse, neglect, or abandonment in their home countries, secure permanent residency in the United States.
