Liz Moxey is a nurse paralegal in the Product Liability and Mass Tort practice at Barnes & Thornburg, supporting the legal team with medical record review, analysis, and case evaluation. She brings more than 20 years of experience in nursing, patient safety, quality improvement, and risk management.

Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Liz worked as a nurse paralegal at a medical malpractice defense firm. Liz reviewed medical records and prepared medical chronologies as well as a factual analysis of the clinical strengths and weaknesses of the case. She translated complex medical information into clear, concise summaries for attorneys and clients, conducted medical research to interpret diagnoses and treatment plans, and evaluated medical evidence for adherence to or deviation from standards of care. She also worked closely with expert witnesses throughout the development of their expert reports.

Before transitioning to legal work, she spent more than two decades in healthcare quality and safety leadership roles at academic medical centers, including Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Penn Medicine, and St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. Clinically, Liz worked as a nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
