David Sandefer focuses on complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts, representing corporate clients in class actions, multidistrict litigation, and appellate proceedings. His practice covers antitrust claims, contract disputes, litigation under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and insurance recovery matters, including coverage denials, claim presentation, and bad-faith claims.
David handles all phases of litigation — from discovery and motion practice through briefing and appeals — and works extensively with fact and expert witnesses. Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, he clerked for Hon. Michael B. Brennan of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and Hon. David R. Proctor of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, experiences that inform a litigation approach grounded in a close understanding of how courts evaluate complex commercial disputes.
